Linda S. Zunk

Linda S. Zunk, 81, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away at home on Thursday, July 14, 2022, after a long illness. She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 17, 1941, to Harold P. and Bertha M. (Roley) Christman. She married Eugene “Gene” O. Zunk at St. John’s United Church of Christ on March 2, 1991.

Linda was a very caring and giving person, spending her time seeing that family, friends, and anyone who needed something, was taken care of. She was always concerned for others’ wellbeing. She and Gene used their talents to remodel homes, bringing the old to new again. She also drew great joy taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren always making memories. When she had free time, Linda worked in her gardens and enjoyed reading.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Gene; son, Gary Jr. Runnels; daughters-in-law, Cherie Runnels and Carolyn Runnels; stepchildren, Kimberly Zunk, David Zunk and Kari (Gary) Weis; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Dwayne, Runnels, Bryan Runnels and Christopher Runnels; sisters, Evelyn, Mildred “Midge,” Aubrey “Chris,”; and brother, Harold, Jr.

Visitation for Linda will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM, Monday, July 18, 2022, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
