Linda Saleh Yazji

May 28, 1969 — August 2, 2018

Linda Saleh Yazji, 49, passed into eternal life on August 2, 2018 in Sylvania, Ohio. Her final days were spent surrounded by the many family and friends that Linda had touched throughout her life. Linda was born on May 28, 1969 in Livonia, Michigan. As the middle child, there was never a shortage of activity in her familys household of seven. Her home was where all of the neighborhood kids would converge to play ball, have races, ride bikes and sell lemonade. Being one of five children, she quickly developed confidence, tenacity and spunk. Linda graduated from Stevenson High School in 1987 then studied to be a Physician Assistant at Western Michigan University. She loved medicine and focused her professional life, at Grace Hospital, serving cardiac patients. Her love of medicine and compassion towards others continued throughout her life. In 1996, Linda married the love of her life, Dr. Ghiath Yazji, a man who is her soul mate and best friend. The two raised three amazing children; Andrew, Isabella and Raphael. Lindas legacy will live on through her children. They all bear her empathy, kindness, sense of humor, intellect and devotion to God. Linda was always so proud of her children, all of whom are incredibly smart, independent and extremely successful. Much of their success can be attributed to Lindas commitment to their growth and well being. Linda was deeply religious and was a very active member of St. Elias Orthodox Church. She served in multiple roles including the Chairwoman of the Board. She was an ardent supporter of the growth of the church and its outreach in the community. She led multiple fundraisers, clothing drives, fashion shows and banquets to raise funds to help those in need, especially Syrian refugees. She loved her work at the church and found immense fulfillment from it. Linda lived her life to the fullest and oftentimes commented on how happy she was. She loved to travel the world but held a special place in her heart for their condo in Florida where she would always cherish the time spent there with her husband, children and friends. She was also actively involved in her childrens lives. Whether she was volunteering for their school events, helping them with homework, cheering them on at a tennis match or offering words of wisdom to help them navigate lifes challenges, she did it with style and grace. Finally, Linda loved to entertain family and friends. Her home was always open and she never failed to impress all with her amazing culinary skills and hospitality. She greeted every person she met with laughter, smiles, funny stories and kind words. Although her life was cut too short, her years were lived to the fullest and filled with love and laughter. Even in her darkest days, she gave us courage and trust in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Her amazing smile, generous heart and faith in God brought so much joy to her friends and family. Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Ghiath Yazji, and their three children; Andrew, Isabella and Raphael, her loving parents, Fred and Afaf Saleh, her brothers Jamal (Krisanne) and Edward (Sarah) Saleh, her sisters Lori (Chris) Ajlouni and Carmen (Rami) Fakhoury, her mother-in-law, Mrs. Josephin Sayegh Yazji, her brothers-in-law Moris and Loui Yazji, sister-in-law Sahab (Fayez) Sayegh and 11 nieces and nephews who adore and will greatly miss their beloved aunt, Anthony, Alex and Aidan Ajlouni, Dillan, Ethan and Emily Saleh, Bashar, Alessandra and Helena Fakhoury, Dima (Marcel) Al Hajj and Bassel Sayegh.
