Rev. Linda Catherine Rahe passed away on January 2, 2016. Born June 20th, 1945 to Paul and Catherine (Reed) Burkett in Fremont. Linda graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1963. She graduated from BGSU with a Bachelor’s degree in science and from UTMC with a Master’s degree in nursing. She taught nursing at Toledo Hospital then at St. Vincent's Medical Center for 16 years. After that she went to Trinity Lutheran seminary and received a Master of Divinity. Her first call was at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Napoleon, Oh. She then received a call to Trinity Lutheran in Findlay where she served for 7 years. After that she received a call to Advent Lutheran in Sylvania, Oh. She retired in 2014 and did supply preaching until her death. Linda loved to teach Bible study and preach the Gospel. She liked to take pictures of nature and share them with her grandchildren. She did missionary work in Cuba and Honduras. She loved life, was outgoing, caring, giving, and loving. She loved to spend time with her husband and family. Linda was a beacon of light to everyone she met. Her grace will always be with us. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis E. Rahe 'Dutch'. She had three children: Dennis Paul Rahe, who preceded her in death in 2014; William David Rahe who also preceded her in death in 2015; and Sharilyn Diane (Ray) Santoro. She is survived by two brothers, David (Mary) Burkett and Brian (Star) Burkett, and her two sisters, Joyce Jenkins, and Sylvia (Kathy) Burkett. Her sister, Andrea (Roger) Reedy, preceded her in death. She had eight grandchildren: Nicole Rahe, Raelyn Santoro, Brittany Rahe, Alison Santoro, Jayce Santoro, Zachary Featherston, Jacob Rahe, and Alex Santoro. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Mike (Janet) Rahe, and sister-in-law, Mari An Jividen. Friends will be received on January 6, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879). Visitation will continue on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. in the Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N Reynolds Rd, Toledo, Ohio 43615 where funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00. Burial will be held privately in the West Union Cemetery in Gibsonburg, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
