Linda Mechel

Linda A. Mechel, age 84, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, surrounded by her family. Linda was a high school graduate of Mount Holly High School, in New Jersey. She continued her education at the University of Toledo and Owens Community College, earning her bachelor's degree. Linda took great pride in her schooling and her hard work ultimately led to her graduating as Suma Cum Laude. Linda was a long-time member of the Maumee United Methodist Church and a member of the Porche Club with her husband, John. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed sewing, she could read and play the piano, and was an avid Beanie Babies collector. Linda can be remembered for her gentle care of animals, especially cats, her tuna casserole, and her love for Elvis.

Linda A. Mechel was born on December 20, 1937, the daughter of Ervin and Ann (Smith) Cosaboom. Linda married John Mechel on May 31, 1958, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, those surviving Linda include, one son, Gregory Mechel; two granddaughters, Ingrid and Ariel Young; one great-granddaughter, Blake; two siblings, Lana (Lee) Robins, and Travis Cosaboom; one brother-in-law, Joe (Barb) Mechel. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Jill Young.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 3:00-7:00pm at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 11:00am, at the Maumee United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
