Linda M. Lower

Linda M. Lower loved to travel and she loved people. She had a way of instantly turning strangers into lifelong friends. Linda, age 69 of Sylvania, OH, passed away Thursday August 17, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. She was born on May 1, 1948 in Yankton, SD to James and Elaine (Dunsmore) Schneider and was raised in Scotland, SD. After graduating from Yankton College in 1970, Linda taught English and Spanish at Yankton High School before moving to LaCrosse, WI in 1977 to begin a career in business. It was there she met and married her husband Tom in 1978. In 1993, the couple moved to Sylvania, OH where Linda became the customer service manager of North and South America for Perstorp Polyols and retired in 2012. She loved to make quilts and to give them away to family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father James, and brothers Bob and Jon Schneider. Surviving is her husband Tom; children John (Sharon) and Emily Lower; grandchildren Jamie and Lizzie; mother Elaine Schneider of Huron, SD; siblings Kathy (Bob) Fugate of Kadoka, SD, Laura (Jeff) Hoffmann of Rapid City, SD, Greg (Kristi) Schneider of Castle Rock, CO, and Jim (Karen) Schneider of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (West of Corey) on Wednesday, August 23 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM where services will be held Thursday at 11 AM. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorials to ProMedica Hickman Cancer Center, Sylvania or Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania.
