Linda J. Lobdell

Linda J. Lobdell, 76, of Genoa, Ohio, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Linda was born September 7, 1932, in Genoa, Ohio, to the late Clinton and Esther Suhrbier Swartzlander. In 1961 Linda married her first husband Raymond Sorg, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1964, and would later marry Wallace Lobdell in 1968, who would also precede her in death in 1999. Linda worked as a secretary for the superintendent of the Genoa Area School District for 26 years retiring in 1976. She was a life member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. She was a past secretary of the church who volunteered her first years of service before being employed. Linda was involved in the church in many ways including serving on the Consistory and being the financial secretary. Linda was also an elder of the church, a youth director, a member of the choir, and was the last remaining member of the Building Committee. For 25 years Linda also served her church that she attended in Arkansas. Linda was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Elmore Chapter. Linda is survived by her step sons, John Debbie Lobdell of Colorado and Tim Cheryl Lobdell of Texas, step daughters, Sharon David Kurtz of Texas and Tammy Wayne Przylepa of Georgia, 7 step grandchildren, and sisters, Joyce Lusk and Mary Ann Wilkins, brother-in-law, Wally Kline, special friend, Bob Fondessy, several nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Raymond Sorg, Jr., second husband, Wallace Lobdell, and sister, Elaine Rust-Kline. Per the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A memorial service for Linda will be held 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2008, at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns United Church of Christ and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
