Linda M. Cherry

Linda Mildred Cherry went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010, surrounded by her family. Linda was born December 31, 1948 in Oregon, Ohio, to Robert and Theodora Gardner. On December 19, 1970, she married Charles William Cherry and he survives. She attended the Genoa Area Schools and graduated from high school in June 1966. Linda attended BGSU and graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education in August of 1969. She also began her career as an art teacher in 1969 working at the Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools. In 1989, she graduated from the University of Toledo with a Masters Degree in Art Education. She began teaching art at the elementary level, and later would move to the high school before retiring in 1999. Linda is survived by her husband, Charles, and nephews, David Robin DClute, Donald Becky DClute, Kenneth Jody Gardner, Kirk Wendy Gardner, Todd Emily Gardner, Jay Susie Gardner, and Trent Stacey Gardner, nieces, Deena DClute, Teri Ted Fisher, and Tami Steve Heritage. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth DClute, brothers, Richard Gardner, Donald Gardner, and nephew, Daniel DClute. Visitation for Linda will be Friday November 12, 2010 from 2:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, Ohio. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday November 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Harvest Christian Church on Seaman Road in Oregon, Ohio. Burial will take place in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, Ohio.
