Linda S. Best, 58, of Genoa, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Linda was born December 16, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, to James P. and Thelma J. (Markin) Smith. On January 18, 1975, she married Michael W. Best in Clay Center, Ohio, and he survives. Linda worked most of her life-20 years at the former Mid-Am Bank in Genoa and then part time for Baumann Chevrolet in Genoa. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Genoa and a member of the Firettes of Clay-Genoa Vol. Fire Dept. and Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #3 in Genoa. Linda loved to read and crochet and was a very good artist. In addition to her husband, Michael, Linda is survived by her sons, Brian (Brooke) Best of Curtice and Craig Best of Genoa, grandson, Nathan Schuessler, sisters, Barbara Jensen (Denny Mazur) of Angier, NC, and Cindy (Bill) Kime of Elmore, her mother, Thelma Smith of Clay Center; as well as nephews, Jeff Diefenthaler, Chris (Heidi) Jensen and Chad Kime, niece, Rachel Johnson, and sister-in-laws, Kathy Temple and Teresa (Terry) Kazmaier. Her father preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015, at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Genoa, with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials for Linda to Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #3, 101 E. 6th St., Genoa, OH 43430; or St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, OH 43430.
