Lillian I. (Dale) Lanz, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was born November 20, 1929, in Canton, OH to Howard and Irene (Fisher) Dale. She was married June 30, 1951, to Willard “Bill” Lanz, who passed away in 1992. Lillian was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Toledo. She had been a Brownie and Girl Schout leader of Troop 27 at Monac School and was a volunteer and member of the Flower Hospital Guild. Lillian was Plant Operation Secretary at Parkview Hospital, retiring in 1991. Prior to that, she worked at Fry Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning. Joys in her life were her family, traveling, gardening, and reading. In her 80th year she met a wonderful man, Richard Karwhite, they had many adventures together.
Lillian is survived by her son, Gary Lanz; daughter, Barb (Robert) Houghtlen; grandson, John (Elen) Lanz; great-grandson, Lukas Lanz; John’s mother, Molly Lanz; sister, Norma Liston, of Akron, OH; brother-in-law, Richard (Betty) Lanz; cousins; nieces; nephews; Robert’s children, DeWayne (Shianne) Houghtlen, Sean (Brandi) Houghtlen, Heather (Andrew) Lewandowski; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 2-6 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623, with a Sharing of Memories to take place at 4 p.m. by Kathy Sentle-Keppler. Burial will be private in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial donations in Lillian’s name may be made to Hope United Methodist Church, 4069 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo.
