Lillian E. Hassen

Lillian Elizabeth Hassen (Langenderfer) passed away on April 9, 2026. She was born to Earl and Florence Langenderfer on August 29, 1925 in Lucas County, Ohio.

She married Harold Hassen on May 21, 1949 and they shared life for 66 years. Before her marriage she assisted in her dad's many business ventures and was his part time bookkeeper for many years after having a family.

She will be remembered as a caring, loving person with her warm smile. She loved many different card games, was ready to play anytime and was a tough player to beat. Later in life she loved jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader.

She showed her art ability painting porcelain for many of her younger years, took sewing lessons in her early 50's, and crocheted many items. She went on to learn watercolor in her early 90's and had a natural ability.

Lillian was a great cook, housekeeper and loved to bake and try new recipes.

Her loving family had a party for her 100th birthday in August 2025 and she loved seeing her family all gathered together to celebrate with her.

She leaves behind three sons, Richard (wife Margo), Robert (wife Judy), Russell, (wife Linda) and two daughters, Barbara Murphy (husband Cuyler) and Pamela Beyer (husband Mick).

She enjoyed her 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, sister Evelyn Lang, daughter-in-law Margo Hassen, grandson Lucas Hassen as well as her husband Harold.

We thank Northwest Ohio Hospice for helping Lillian in her last few days to be comfortable.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway, Maumee, OH 43537. Burial will be held privately at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Assumption, OH. We ask in lieu of flowers to donate money to your church or favorite charity.
