Lillian J. Engler, age 90, passed away January 1, 2017 in Toledo. A member of Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Church. She was born and raised on a farm in Whitehouse, OH. After graduating from Whitehouse High School, she worked at the Whitehouse Bank and the Commerce National Bank in Toledo. After taking a business course at David Business College, she worked for Swartzbaugh Mfg. Co. and Champion Spark Plug Co. With two sons interested in scouting, she served as Den Mother and other scouting activities as both her sons achieved rank of Eagle Scouts. She served as President of the Auxiliary for the Plumbing and Heating Contractors for a year and was an active member for years. She was member of Ft. Industry Chapter #391 O.E.S. for 55 years. She belonged to Daughters of Jephthah, Ruth Circle Club and Zenobia Campers for many years as well. She spent many years as a homemaker raising her two boys. Many winters were spent traveling in the south and southwest in a motor home. Camping was a big part of her life especially after she and her husband retired. Surviving are her sons, Ken (Pam) and Tom Engler; granddaughters, Michelle (Mike) Kaiser, Heather (Bryan) Coehrs; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William R. Engler and 11 siblings. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where services will be held at 1:00 PM interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
