Lilalee Marie Abel, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, Port Clinton, Ohio. Lilalee was born in Port Clinton on August 5, 1950, the daughter of Bernard J. and Patricia M. (Wyss) O’Lynn, and was raised in Bellevue, Ohio.
Lilalee, as a youngster, was very talented and excelled at dancing. This talent she used her whole life to enrich herself and especially those around her. She had an opportunity to audition for a spot in a professional dance school, but declined so she could be home when, Thomas Dean Abel, the love of her life, returned from the Vietnam War. They married in Bellevue on August 7, 1971, and for the next 48 years, their love grew, along with their family.
Lilalee was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a friend to those she met throughout her life. Many will remember her as the choreographer for the former Bellevue Cherry Festival and a Jazzercise instructor at the former Thompson School, in Bellevue.
Lilalee is survived by her children, Thomas C. (India) Abel, Dawn L. Abel-Hofmeier and Brandi J. (Daryl) Abel-Smith, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, siblings, Michael P. (Wendy) O’Lynn, Patrick J. (Susan) O’Lynn Rebecca M. (Terry Ray) Jackson, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas, on March 22, 2019, brother, Bernard Timothy O’Lynn, and her parents, Bernard, and Patricia O’Lynn.
