Lewis John Buchwalter, 45, of Oregon, OH passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 24, 1976 in Toledo, OH to Dennis and Joyce (Wadsworth) Buchwalter. He graduated from Clay High School in 1994. Lewis worked as a forklift operator for Gateway Recycling in Oregon. He also previously worked for Michelin Tire in Toledo for 10 years and at King’s Fishery and Joe Herr Fisheries in Curtice. Lewis loved fishing, especially for walleye. He was called “The Fish Slayer” by his friends. Lewis also enjoyed boating and turtle and frog hunting. Lewis is survived by his parents, Dennis and Joyce Buchwalter of Curtice, OH, brother, Curtiss (Linda) Buchwalter of Oak Harbor, paternal grandfather, Curtiss Thompson, aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, and a grand-nephew. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Thompson and maternal grandparents, Ivan and Gladys “Dee” Wadsworth. Memorial services for Lewis will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2021 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH with visitation one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Lewis may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
