Lester O. Walton, 87, passed away peacefully Friday morning in his Maumee home. He was born in Rossford, Ohio on December 5, 1922, to Eddie and Mary Cooper Walton. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and also many nieces and nephews. Lester was a veteran of the United States Army WWII. He was a member of the 100th Infantry Division, serving in Germany, France, and England. He attended several reunions with his fellow Army comrades. Lester worked for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company for 42 years, as Head Produce and Fruit Inspector. He was a credit union officer for 26 years. He retired in 1983. In his retirement years he loved to fish with his family and did many remodeling jobs for his friend Mike Dandar. He loved to play Texas Hold Em with his family and go to the casinos. Lester married Lynda Harris Walton on June 7, 1946 , and from that union they raised four children, Vicki John Stolzer, Perrysburg, OH, Larry Sandra Walton, Oak Harobr, OH, Barbara Ronald Pelc, Perrysburg, OH, and Linda-Henri Larry Keil, Rossford, OH. He has eight grandchildren, Kevin Diane Stolzer, Hilliard, OH, Jennifer Karl Schmidt, Perrysburg, OH, Paul Stacey Stolzer, Moline, OH, Heather Michael Kovacs, Temperance, MI, Aaron Bonnie Keil, Point Place, OH, David Walton, Oak Harbor, OH, Michael Walton, Oak Harbor, OH and Carl Keil, Rossford, OH. He also has eight great grandchildren; Zoey, Kaitlin, Timothy, Damien, Jacob, Sydney, Josiah, and Jayda. And one God Daughter, Cheryl Young. Family and friends may visit Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 2-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where funeral services will begin on Monday July 19, 2010 at 10:00 am.
