Lester A. Roudebush, Jr.

Lester A. Roudebush, Jr. passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Lester was born July 20, 1928 in St. Louis, MO but grew up in Toledo where he graduated from Libbey High School. He worked with his father as a teenager repairing vacuum cleaners and washing machines and later went to work for the Hoover Vacuum Company. In 1952, Les started working for IBM and was employed with them until his retirement in 1987 as Branch Manager. He loved every minute of his 35 years with IBM. Les served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for 16 years. Les was a 56 year member of Barton Smith Lodge #613. He was Past Master of his lodge and went on to achieve the status of KYCH. He had a fantastic memory and always knew his ritualistic work and loved helping other Masons learn their parts. Among his other Masonic duties, Les worked at the Masonic Bulletin. Other memberships include the Zenobia Shrine- the Lancers Unit and Hope United Methodist Church. Les is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maryjane Hicks Roudebush; sons, Lester Roudebush, III Dorothy, John Roudebush Mary, and Jay Roudebush Sandy; daughter, Michelle Thompson Jim Bridges; grandchildren, Robert Springsteen, IV, Jay L. Roudebush Kristi, and Tessa N. Roudebush; great-granddaughter, Chloe Grace Roudebush. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester A. Roudebush, Sr.; mother, Lucille Ludlow; step-mother, Clarice Jewel Roudebush; half-sisters, Marion Winingnear and Dolores Goetz; and grandson, Lester A. Roudebush, IV. The Family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their wonderful care of Les and the family. It was extremely appreciated. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. with Masonic Services at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Richards officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
