Lester Charles Gruetter

Lester “Butch” Gruetter, 88, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at his home. He was born in Toledo to Otto and Selma Gruetter on February 24, 1936. Butch worked at Nabisco for over 35 years before retiring. He married his beloved wife, Barb, and they spent many wonderful years together before her passing in 2004. Butch loved helping others and could always be found working on something around the house. He enjoyed taking road trips and especially loved fishing trips.

He is survived by his children, Cathy Gladieux, Carol Gruetter; grandchildren, Duane Gruetter, Brian (Melony) Gladieux, Sarah (Robert) Devault, Jason Griesinger; great-grandchildren, Devon Gladieux, Layla Gladieux, Ethan Devault, Preston Devault; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his children, Mary Griesinger, Terry Gruetter; grandchild, Shaun Gruetter; his siblings; and his parents.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH, with a service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
