Lester Glenn Fulkert, 62, died Tuesday morning January 10, 2012, in his home in Elmore after a long illness. He was born June 7, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, to Glenn and June A. Hamann Fulkert and raised in the Elmore and Genoa areas. On April 22, 1989, in Jerusalem Township, he married Roberta Bobbie James Moore Chio, who survives. After 26 years Lester retired in 2005 as a foreman from the former Press Equipment Corp of Toledo. He continued to work as a tool and die maker as a hobby and loved to build and restore old tractors, cars and motorcycles. He restored many cars, but the 1938 Plymouth Coupe was his proudest; this car is now being used for racing. His latest project was a 1979 CJ7 Jeep. Lester loved NASCAR, being outdoors and riding his motorcycle. He was a man of few words-a big bear of a man with a kind heart. In addition to his wife, Bobbie, Lester is survived by his step-children, David Brenda Moore of Curtice, Janet Moore of Northwood and Bryan Kelley Moore of Oregon, mother, June A. Reuben Ramirez of Gibsonburg, father, Glenn Karen Fulkert, Toledo, sister, Deb Skats, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and a four-legged daughter, his cat, Bear. Lester was preceded in death by his brother, David Reuben Ramirez, his grandfather, Lester August Hamann and grandmother, Evalyn Augusta. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Lester may be given to the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr. Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
