Lester A. Bowser

Lester A. Bowser, 79, of Huron, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. He was born on March 14, 1947, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to the late Paul E. and Dorothy G. (Balliet) Bowser.

Les was a 1965 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. After completing his military service, Les became manager of the Port Clinton Yacht Club while building his construction company, B & L Contractors. In 1984 he dissolved the company and became the store manager of Gordon Lumber until he retired in 2008

An avid sports fan, Les faithfully cheered on his favorite teams, including the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He could always be found following their seasons and rooting them on.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeffrey (Tracy) Bowser and Arabelle (Richard) Higgins; grandchildren, Zechary Hanson, Mias Sommers, Isabel Romeo, and Theo Romeo; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jennifer (Gilbert) Hensley.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanne; his parents; his brother, Jesse J. Bowser; and an infant brother.

Memorial contributions may be made in Les's name to Southern Comfort Hospice.

Services will be held privately for the family.
