Leslie J. Strauss Milauc

June 27, 1955 — October 31, 2024

Leslie Jane Strauss Milauc, age 69 years, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away October 31, 2024, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1955, in Lufkin, Texas to the late Robert Henry and Susan Jane (Carithers) Strauss. Her family relocated to Toledo and Leslie attended Harvard Elementary School and graduated from Toledo Bowsher High School in 1973.

Leslie was employed for nearly 10 years at the Good Morning Garden Center in Texas doing one of the things she loved, taking care of plants and flowers. She went on to a more than 25-year career as a surgery coordinator with the former Genito-Urinary Surgeons of Toledo.

Artistic and free-spirited, Leslie enjoyed listening to music, especially the Beatles and Beach Boys, taking beautiful photos, and visiting the Toledo Museum of Art with her daughter. She and Emily also took several art classes together to hone their skills. Experiencing the beauty of nature was most expressly found for Leslie on the beach, in particular, Sanibel Island, Florida, her favorite destination.

Leslie was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Maumee where she recently was a part of the Altar Guild. She will be lovingly remembered for her gregarious, fun-loving personality. Leslie enjoyed being with people and others enjoyed her company as well. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her late mother and her beloved daughter. Leslie was kind, generous and warm and she will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Emily; sister, Kathy (Rocky) Rainer; niece, Ann Rainer; nephews, Joe and Jeff Rainer; and her dog, Charlie (who is a Westie). She was preceded in death by her former husband, Mark.

A memorial service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be announced soon. Leslie will be privately laid to rest next to her parents at Ft. Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg.

Contributions are suggested for the benevolence of her family and can be made on the Tribute Wall on this page.
