Leroy E. Mclargin

February 10, 1931 — December 20, 2018

Leroy E. McLargin, 87, of Walbridge, Ohio, was called home to glory on December 20, 2018 surrounded by his daughter, Becky, grandson James and his wife Chelsea and great-grandson, Gabriel. Daddy served in the U.S. Army at the rank of Corporal during the Korean War and had been serving on the Color Guard detail for the American Legion Post #537, Oregon, Ohio, where he was a member. He was a faithful member of the Intersection Church, in Oregon, where he loved to sing. His wonderful bass voice can now be heard with the angels in Heaven! Leroy worked for the Conrail Railroad for 41 years. Once he retired he had different jobs including; janitor at his church, splitting and selling firewood and building and remodeling homes. He also enjoyed working on cars and later in life, he collected model cars and trains. Daddy LOVED sports! He played softball, volleyball, bowled and a few others I am not aware of. Leroy was a HUGE Buckeye fan and I am a Michigan fan, but in spite of our shortcomings we loved each other! Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Clara (Arnold) McLargin, brother, Dick and sister, Doris. Those missing him are his daughters, Rebecca J. (Gary Bowdle) McLargin of Piqua, OH and Mary & Family, Grandchildren, James W. (Chelsea) Goodwin, Sarah & Family and Andrew & Family, great-grandson, Gabriel, brothers, Ray (Shirley) McLargin and Don (Monie) McLargin, sister-in-law, Charlotte Taylor, Niece, Cindy (Andrew) Costley, nephew, Steve (Darla) Cameron & family, great-niece, Taylor and great-nephew, Max. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Pastor J.D. at 5 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Intersection Church, 1640 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH 43616. A military service will be conducted by American Legion Post #537 immediately following the service in church. Memorial contributions may be made in Leroys name to the church. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa, Ohio is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com. I love you Daddy, rest in peace till we meet again. Love, Rebecca Joy
