Leroy G. Furstnau

Leroy G. Furstnau, 90, of Curtice, Ohio, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, in his residence. He was born November 12, 1921, in Williston, Ohio, to Gustav E. and Karolena A. Siefke Furstnau. In 1969 he married Helen Carris Worthington and she survives. Leroy was a farmer who spent his entire life working the ground he was born and died on; like his parents and grandparents. He was active in many church activities, over the years, at St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, where he had been a member. Leroy had also been a member of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau, liked to play Pinochle, and enjoyed traveling across the United States. In addition to his wife, Helen, Leroy is survived by three step children and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arnold Furstnau, and sisters, Leona Schulte Emch, Marietta Gardner and Delores Myers. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, Ohio. Memorials for Leroy may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 W. Toledo St., P.O. Box 325, Williston, OH 43468.
