Leonard Willis, Jr.

June 12, 1951 — February 17, 2025

Leonard (Lenny, Butch) Henry Willis Jr., age 73 of Toledo, departed this life on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Ebeid Hospice Center of Northwest Ohio. He was born on June 12, 1951, to the late Leonard and Eleanor (Wagner) Willis in Titusville, Pennsylvania.

Leonard took residence in Toledo, Ohio with his family when he was a child. He married his childhood sweetheart, Vicki (Keller-Willis) Hilty and had two daughters, Lisa Ann and Molly Jean. He later married his second wife Darla and being an animal lover, they cared for many dogs and cats throughout their years together. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and served as a Fireman. He worked in construction and drove semi-truck for a few years before working at the Toledo Jeep plant, where he retired after 33 years as a Body-Shop Specialist, proudly working at the end of the line ensuring a beautiful, finished product. He loved the freedom of riding his custom Screaming Eagle Ultra Classic and took many lengthy trips touring the country. He had a love of all things guns and ammo, and a strong patriotism for his country. He was incredibly soft-hearted and strong-willed, both badges he wore with pride that served him well into his final days. He was a good friend to many, enjoying many great times and laughs with friends he held so dear to his heart.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kiehl; granddaughter, Maya Willis; daughter, Lisa Willis; former wife, Darla Willis; and sister, Shirley Holben.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Molly (Andy) Suter, and grandson Elliott Willis of Maumee; grandsons, M’boya and Myles Stewart of Toledo; brothers, Kenneth (Terrie) Willis of Toledo, and Jerry Willis of California; sister, Linda Pratt of California; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank friend Diana Barabash and the team of caregivers at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for giving exceptional and compassionate care in his final days.

Please join the family on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, where a service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m.
