Leonard Joseph Heilman

Leonard Joseph Heilman, age 87, of Bedford, New York, died on Sunday, April 10, 2016. He was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on May 11, 1928 to Louis T. and Mildred L. Heilman and grew up in Maumee. He attended Harvard College and Harvard Business School. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force Reserve until 1958 and worked as a business and financial executive throughout the country before retiring in 2012. Len is survived by his three daughters; Elizabeth (John B.) Heilman Brooke Murray, Kate (Bob) Heilman Byrne and Ann Heilman Murphy; seven grandchildren; his sisters; Fran (Dick) Anderson, Florence Muenzer, Anne (Dave) VanderHooven, Lala Seitz and Marty (Dave) McKenzie and brothers; Alfred (Ann) Heilman and Jim (Linda) Heilman. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hyland Heilman, and his sisters, Judy Lafen and Patricia Kinsley and brothers, Tom Heilman and Bob Heilman. Visitation will be held at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a scripture service at 6:00 PM. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 104 West Broadway, Maumee.
