Leonard Stephen Haupricht

November 6, 1945 — May 3, 2010

Leonard Stephen Haupricht, age 64, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday morning, May 3, 2010. Known by his friends as Lenny or Hoppy, he was the sixth of seven children born to George and Lucy Haupricht, of Toledo, Ohio, on November 6, 1945. He was a graduate of Rogers High School in 1964 and served in the United States Army from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969. In 1973, he started his family business. In 1970, he married Mary Ann Blanchard, of Toledo, and had three children, Nikoll, Jennifer and Chad. They later divorced. He was introduced to his wife, Joyce Peace, in 1992 by his dear friend, the late David Fall. Len and Joyce later married and were blessed with 18 years together. Lenny was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, faithful friend and humble servant of God and those in need. He was generous to a fault, kind, hard working and a blessing to all who knew him, a man of great humility and quiet strength who embodied honesty and integrity. He loved working. He loved building. He loved fixing things and solving problems. Lenny lived his life in service to others. Always encouraging. Always seeking ways to help and desiring nothing in return. His reward is eternal, not that he ever expected a reward at all. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucy Haupricht, his brothers, George and Cletus Haupricht and sister Doris Gay. He is survived by his dear wife, Joyce, of Toledo, loving children, Nikoll Haupricht Dreher, son-in-law, Chris, grandsons, John Aden 6 and Callan Leonard 11 weeks, of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter Jennifer Haupricht Ungrey, son-in-law, Matthew, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; son, Chad Haupricht and daughter-in-law, Jennifer; step-daughters, Michelle Millsaps and Suzette Benink and children, grandchildren, Ariana Brazier, 6, Jayden Moll, 1; his brothers, John and Margie Haupricht, Frank and Betty Haupricht and Nick Haupricht; as well as other brothers and sisters in-law, numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and cherished friends. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Rd. will have visiting hours on Thursday evening, May 6, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr., Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551, or do as Len would do, help someone in need and expect nothing in return.
