Leona Wells

Leona M. Wells, 93, of Toledo, OH, passed away on February 13, 2023, after a short stay at Otterbein Monclova SeniorLife Neighborhood. She lived at Oakleaf Village for the last 5 years. She was born on September 24, 1929 in Toledo to Gilbert J. and Alice W. Winters.

After graduating high school Leona went to work for the Peoples Savings where she spent over 20 years, and she was later employed with Ohio Citizens Bank where she retired after an additional 20 years in banking. Leona loved reading and books, as well as playing cards. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren, whom she loved to the moon and back.

Leona is survived by her loving daughter, Linda (Duane) Topel; grandchildren, Amy Smigelski and Lisa (Scott) Rozanski and Pamela Wright; great grandchildren, Miranda, Eli, Chloe and Jude; and great-great grandchild, Kayden. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Alice; first husband, Ray E. Wright; second husband, Norbert Wells; and her son, Jeffery Wright.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, 43623 (416-841-2422). Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at Toledo Memorial Park.
