Leona E. Hinkle

Leona E. (Mohler-Heslet) Hinkle, 88, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Spring Meadows Senior Community. She was born December 14, 1926 in Malinta, Ohio to Frank J. and Helen F. Mohler. Leona graduated from Woodward High School in 1944. She tended bar in several of the establishments in the Reynolds Corners areas for many years and later worked as a secretary for American Lincoln and Toledo Paving Co. Leona belonged to the American Legion Post #646, Holland, Ohio Auxiliary since 1989 and she was also a member of the Cousino Club. Leona enjoyed doing needlework and giving her finished work as gifts to friends for numerous years until her eye sight started failing. Leona is survived by her children, Dallas F. Heslet, Leroy J. Heslet and Sandy Kipplen; grandchildren, Suzanna (David) Shah, Diane Kipplen, Brian (Michele) Kipplen, William Heslet, Cody Heslet and Hunter Heslet and great granddaughters, Kayla Shah and Miranda Kipplen She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard “Dick” Hinkle in 1984 and son, Robert Heslet in 1954. Funeral services will be private. The family wishes to thank the Spring Meadows Senior Community for their excellent care and support of Leona.
