Leona Jane Ault

Leona Jane Ault, age 86, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. She was born on April 6, 1928 in Perrysburg, Ohio to Walter and Charlotte (Snyder) Artz. Leona was involved at St. Rose Parish, serving on the Alter Rosary Society and in the Senior Club. She was a member of the American Legion Post 240, the Womens International Bowling Association and the Toledo Area Horseshoe Pitchers Association. Leona was an avid Barbie collector and actively involved in sports. She was a State Champion in Womens Softball, placed first in Class B and Class C in horseshoes and holds the record in basketball in the Senior Olympics since the age of 55. She is survived by her sons, Rick (Kenda); Tim (Amy) and Bill (Beth); grandchildren, Amy (Brad) Keller; Nicole (G.T.) Parris; Daniel (Aly) Ault; Dana (Glen) Merritt; Richard (Kristy) Ault; and Jeremy Ault; great-grandchildren, Paul, Addison, Ava, Ryder, Mason, Rylan, Quinn, Evan, Henry and Claire. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; sister, Virginia (Ralph) Thompson; and brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Artz and Walter (Ona) Artz. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to caregivers Pat, Cindy, Peg and Betsy for all their love and support. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with prayers at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose Parish, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery.
