Leon Earl Houghtalling, Jr.

Leon E. Houghtalling, 52, of Whitehouse, passed suddenly Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1962 in Toledo to Leon E. and Alice Mary (Reetz) Houghtalling, Sr. and he married Wanda M. Growden on June 13, 1981. Leon worked for over 25 years for Haas Door. He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and he enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful cook who loved to make meals for his family and friends. Family was incredibly important to Leon, including his grandchildren, which he adored. Those who knew him were truly blessed and he will be greatly missed by all. Leon is survived by his loving wife, Wanda M. Houghtalling; children, Jamie (Terrence) Hartford, Matthew Houghtalling and Jason Montri-Houghtalling; grandchildren, Drayton, Emma, Leah and Olivia; siblings, Tina Harvey and John (Barbara) Houghtalling. He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Kenneth Growden. Friends will be received on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where visitation will continue on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. The family asks that if you have a Harley-Davidson shirt to please wear it to the service. Burial will be held privately.
