Surrounded by his loving family, Leon Clayton 65, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday. Leon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a faithful friend to many. Anyone who knew Leon was touched by his gentle soul and kind heart and was always fun to be around with his good humor and infectious laugh. Leon enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar, golfing and listening to country music. He was employed by General Motors-Powertrain for 30 years, retiring in 2008. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 46 years, Sandra (Donovan) Clayton; son, Leon (Jenny) Clayton; daughter, Cynthia Clayton; sister, Betty (Charles) Bracken; brothers, Ronald (Colleen) Clayton and Talmadge (Betty) Clayton. His grandchildren were the light of his life, Martin (Megan) Sekulski; Jennifer (Chris) Pullen; Logan Clayton; Ricky LaVergne; Nicholas LaVergne; Michael (Brandi) LaVergne; Aaron Gamble; Joshua Gamble; 2 great grandchildren, Brendan and Cobra; In-laws, Donald (Kathy) Donovan; James (Karen) Donovan; William (Lora) Donovan; 13 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews as well as his faithful dog, Micky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Fronnie Clayton and son, Christopher Charles Clayton. Friends will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 3-9 pm Thursday where funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday August 31, 2012. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, Perrysburg. The family would like to send out a special thank you to the nursing staff at Flower ICU and Flower 5th Floor, the nursing staff at Regency in addition to the amazing team of medical doctors, especially Dr. Sarikonda, Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Mahboub that allowed us a few additional weeks to spend with him. An extra special thanks to Pastor Ted Weemes for supporting and guiding our family through the last five weeks.
