Leo Eugene Wymer, age 89, of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully early Monday September 24th, 2018 in his home. He spent his last day surrounded by his devoted family and friends. A resident of Maumee for the past 20 years, he was born to Frank and Minnie (Shoe) Wymer on September 1, 1929 in Ravenna, Ohio. He graduated from Ravenna High School in 1947 and attended Kent State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He devoted 32 years to Chrysler Corporation, first in Twinsburg, Ohio and later at the company headquarters in Hamtramck, Michigan. He and his wife moved to Lambertville, Michigan when he retired in 1988 to be closer to his first grandchild, Katie. He was active in The Elks Club in Ravenna. He enjoyed sports his entire life and was an avid golfer, and an enthusiastic Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Fan. He took great pride in the activities and achievements of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie (Romano), who he married on September 12th, 1953. Also surviving are his daughter, Jeannie (James) Herold of Maumee; son, Martin (Ilene Roth) Wymer of Solon; his granddaughter, Katherine (Alec Thieda) Herold of Toledo, and his grandsons: Christian Leo Wymer, Nicholas Wymer and, Chase Wymer, all of Solon. Other relatives surviving are; his brother Floyd (Elaine) Wymer, and sisters Wanda Biltz and Inez Lemon, as well as many beloved brother and sister in-laws; Kathryn King, Bridget (Tom) Gray, Frank (Connie) Romano, Russel (Bev) Romano, Patricia Naulty and John (Diane) Romano, and many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful and devoted caregiver, Pat Repka. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers; Donald, Royal and Roger, sisters; Blanche (Robert) Peacock, Clara (Herman) Knapp and Freida (John) Dalrymple, brother in laws Russel Biltz and John Lemon and his in-laws; Marion and Carmella Romano, who loved him like a son, as well as their deceased family; Joseph (Nadine) Romano, Leonard “Nardy” (Ginger) Romano and Bill King. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at 1 P.M. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee. Visitation will follow from 2-5 P.M. immediately after the service. Online condolences may be made at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
