Leo Dale Nystrom

Leo Dale Nystrom, 82, living with son in California and resident of Port Clinton passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 in California. He was born on December 12, 1928 in Monroe, Nebraska. Leo was adopted by B. Peter and Anna Lind Nystrom of Ogden, Iowa. On March 15, 2008 in Paradise, CA, he married Pasty J. Wolfe and she survives. Leo was veteran of the U.S. Army Occupation Force Japan, Iowa National Guard, U.S. Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard. He worked as the Electrical Section NCOIC and was the founding father of the 200th RED HORSE Rifle and Pistol Team at Camp Perry. He retired from military service in 1988 after serving 16 years with the 200th RED HORSE Squadron. Leo was a member of the order of the Eastern Star. Leo was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH and a 32nd Degree Mason. Current member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Anderson, Ca. Life Member of the VFW Oak Harbor, Am Vets Redding, Ca, and American Legion of Port Clinton Survivors include: Loving wife of 3 years: Pasty J. Wolfe; Sons: Greg Hart, Joseph Nystrom, Todd Sara Green, and Norman Geri Nystrom; Daughters: Ramona Sue Steve Henn, Kathleen Michael Green and Nicki Gross; 18 Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Loretta Anderson. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, wife: of 35 years Betty B. Nystrom, son: Bernard Nystrom, grandson: Adam Green, brothers: Floyd & William Stanley. Visitation will be 5 - 8PM., Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:00PM. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. Interment will be in La Carpe Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH, where military graveside services will be held.
