Leandra “Jane” Miller, 78, of Port Clinton, was reunited with her beloved husband, David L. Miller, in Heaven on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. She was born to John and Caroline Danko on July 28, 1943. At a young age, Jane began in the Cochran Majorettes and continued to showcase her talent throughout the 1950’s. In 1962, only months after high school graduation, she and David L. Miller married, and since his passing in 2010, she has missed him tremendously. For over 30 years Jane opened her home to run a daycare, proudly earning the title of Grandma Jane or to the especially lucky ones, Momo. In Jane’s later years, she could be found in Gypsum at “the barn” enjoying bluegrass music and festivities with friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, KayLeen (Bob) Daup and Allen J. (Michelle) Miller. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Danielle (Richie) McLaughlin, Kenny (Melissa Shaner) Daup, Allen F. (Ashley) Miller, Kelly (Derek) Talmage, Stephanie (Nic) Dodson; and great-grandchildren, Richard “Tater” McLaughlin, Jr., Jase, Joseph, and Jaxon Miller, McKenzi Madison, and Coleton and Grayson Shaner. Grandma Jane also leaves the numerous children she was honored to care for. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Christy Chapel Cemetery, 2501 East State Road, Port Clinton, OH, with the family’s dear friend, Pastor Timmy Morelock officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Wreaths Across America – Ottawa County or to Ottawa County Senior Resources. Online tributes to the family may be made at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
