Lawrence Angelo Spinazze

Lawrence (Larry) Spinazze, age 83, of Sylvania Township passed away September 2, 2018 in Cincinnati after a long illness. Larry was born February 3, 1935 in Windsor, Ontario to Cecilia (Signoretti) and Domenic Spinazze. They later moved to Toledo where Larry attended Rosary Cathedral Parish School and Central Catholic High School. He attended the University of Toledo and was a lifelong fan! He married Joyce Emerick in 1958. They spent 48 happy years together until her death from cancer in 2006. Larry served in the US Army as a reservist stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Larry was employed at Libbey–Owens–Ford as a Systems Analyst from 9/29/59 and retired 3/1/97. Larry was deeply committed to Catholic Education. He was a volunteer at Christ the King Catholic School and was a member of Christ the King-Holy Name Society. In 1978 he received the Outstanding Contributor to Youth Award at Blessed Sacrament School. Larry was happy, fun loving, had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great story teller. He was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecilia and Domenic, his brother Paul and his wife Joyce. He is survived by his daughter Cindy (Marty) Majka, Shelli (Tim) Rolfes and son Mark (Jean) Spinazze. His grandchildren Angela (Joel) Tyus, Elizabeth (Andrew) Herre, Nicholas Majka, Mark (Jess) Rolfes, Greg Rolfes, Kate Rolfes, Nicole (Mike) Basirico, Gayle Spinazze, Julianna Spinazze and Joe Spinazze. Great Grand Children Domenic and Campbell Tyus, Henry Herre, Stella and Beckett Rolfes and Vinny Basirico. Sister Lillian (Roger) Peluso and sister in law, Liz Spinazze. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5515 W. Sylvania Ave. 43623 Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, Saturday, September 8, at Noon.
