Lawrence C. Skees

Lawrence C. Skees, 77, of Ft. Myers, FL, and formerly of Genoa, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg on Friday, April 25, 2008. Larry was born July 4, 1930, to Clinton and Hazel Skees in Hillsdale, Michigan. Larry was married to the former Carol McFarland for 52 years, and she preceded him in death in 2002. Larry worked for over 50 years in the financial services business and was a Certified Financial Planner. For many of those 50+ years, Larry was a top producer and a leader of one of the most successful insurance agencies for numerous companies that he represented. To say that Larry was an avid golf fan would be an understatement. He loved to play golf whenever possible and watched it nearly every week during the season. He loved to have a small wager with his sons on the outcome of most of the tournaments. Larry is survived by his four children, Sharon Michael Lesner of Cornersville, TN, Tom Peggy Skees, Dan Lori Skees, and Susan Troy Neff all of Curtice, OH. Larry had ten grandchildren, Nick Hodulik, Molly Brian Pearson, Abbey Hodulik, Ashley Craig Riedeman, Casey Wesley Rethman, Taylor Skees, Zach Skees, Aaron Skees, Bethany Skees, and Samantha Neff. He had one great-grandson, William Riedeman, and a great-granddaughter due in May, Cora Pearson. Over the last 14 months of his life, Larry was made very happy by his special friend and fianc, Sandra Stahl. Funeral services will be private with family only, with a celebration of his life to be held later this summer. The family requests that any donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, has assisted the family with arrangements.
