Rev. Lawrence H. “Bud” Jeffries, age 81, of Swanton, Ohio died Friday, December 7, 2018 at Swanton Healthcare. He was born in Leon, West Virginia on April 28, 1937 to Lawrence R. and Thelma Mae (Smith) Jeffries. Bud was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Army. He was employed as a Truck Driver for over 30 years and for 20 years he served as the primary Minister at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. He was often times found “tinkering” around the house where he could fix just about anything. Bud was a member of American Legion Post # 384 in Whitehouse and a former member of Swanton Post # 479 where he served as Sargent-at-Arms, Chaplain & Vice Commander. He is survived by his children, Cherie Urbina, Jenni (David) Steagall, Maelee (Mike) Turner and Larry (Michele) Jeffries; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren as well as his brothers, Eugene (Mary Kay); James (Karen), Merle (Sue), Frank (Jaris) and Kenneth (Kay) Jeffries. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Thelma Mae and his wife, Patricia. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Bud’s name to American Legion Post #384, 6910 Providence Street, Whitehouse, OH 43571.
