Lawrence "Larry" Haddad

February 10, 1934 — May 22, 2022

Lawrence Joseph “Larry” Haddad, 88, formerly of Sylvania, departed from this life on May 22, 2022. He passed away at home in Brentwood, Tennessee, surrounded by family, four months following a significant orthopedic injury.

Larry was born in Riverside Hospital on February 10, 1934 and was raised in Toledo’s Vistula neighborhood. He graduated from Woodward High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and tennis, and was senior class president. Larry graduated from The University of Toledo in 1954 with a degree in business. He was successful in the restaurant business for many years, including with Larry’s Restaurant in Cricket West. He later headed operations for American Frame Company in Maumee for over 20 years. Following retirement, he continued to live in Sylvania in the family home. In June 2021, Larry and his wife Gloria relocated to Brentwood, Tennessee, so they could be nearer to family.

Larry’s life was dedicated to his family, always putting others before himself. His honesty, humility, kindness, and work ethic were a model for his sons and grandchildren. Larry and Gloria devoted much of their time to being with their sons and families, helping them raise their children and excel in their lives.

Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria, and his sons Gregg (Evelyn), Steven (Amy), Darrin (Nancy), and Brian (Megan). He also is survived by eight grandchildren – Joseph, Margaret, Caroline, Jonathan, Benjamin, Chase, George, and Zachary – and one more on the way. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Adele Haddad.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623.
