Lawrence Gruetter, 85, of Curtice, Ohio, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born October 29, 1925, in Curtice to John and Mildred Heins Gruetter. On January 22, 1956, he married Elaine Schlievert and she survives. He was a lifelong farmer. His loves were family, faith, friends, farming and flying. He was an active lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston and an associate member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Lawrence was a past board member of Genoa Area Local Schools and Luckey Farmers. He was a member of the International Flying Farmers and Portage Valley Flying Club. In addition to his wife, Lawrence is survived by son, Paul Joy Gruetter of Fremont and daughters, Judy Ray Robaszkiewicz of Curtice, Carol Steve Jensen of Millbury and Annette Stephen Lazenby of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Kevin Sarah, Kristi Jason, Jill, Daniel, Jessica, Ben, Austin, Grant, James, Alex and Oliver; great grandson, Ethan; sisters, Marian Batzer and Grace Bill Voigt; brothers-in-law, Lyle Karen Schlievert and Warren Rosemary Schlievert; and sister-in-law, Sue Hatcher-Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Clyde Batzer. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011, and 2-8 p.m. Monday, May 23, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, with interment to follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston.
