Lawrence J. Brough, 91, of Genoa, Ohio, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in the Genoa Retirement Village. He was born in Woodville, Ohio, on March 4, 1922, to Lawrence C. and Mae Wheeler Brough. He married Gladys L. Horricks in Bruce Mines, Ontario, Canada, on October 20, 1951, and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2006. Lawrence was a quarry operator for the Martin-Marietta Corp. of Woodville, Ohio for 38 years, retiring in 1982. He was also a member of the Woodville United Methodist Church. Lawrence was an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan, and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Forces. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Barbara Brough of Luckey, Ohio, grandchildren, Brian Jackie Brough, and Becky Justin Cogswell, both of Perrysburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Florence Hemminger, and brothers, Jess L. and Donald W. Brough. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 PM, Monday, June 3, 2013, in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, from 4-7 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013. The family suggests that memorials in Lawrences memory be directed to the Genoa Retirement Village, 300 Cherry St., Genoa, OH 43430. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Duane L. Sander and the entire staff at Genoa Retirement Village for their endless compassion and support throughout the years.
