Laverne (Stepp) Allen

January 15, 1943 — June 29, 2020

LaVerne Stepp Allen, 77, passed away June 29, 2020. She was born on January 15, 1943 in Inez, KY. She was surrounded by the love of her family and peacefully joined her husband Jim, her parents, Oll and Mary Stepp, and her siblings at the gates of Heaven. She has left behind to cherish her memory: her sister Bessie Rhodes, her children; Deborah McCarty (Mark), Gayle Biedenbach, Robin McQuade (Mark), Jimmy Allen (Fay), and Lorie Fultz (Greg): 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. LaVerne loved her family and her passion was to always be surrounded by the little ones, she was a member of Rebecca and Odd Fellows, she was an avid reader, and enjoyed her many trips with her sisters. Graveside services for Laverne will be conducted by Pastor Rusty Yost at 11:15 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at Sackett Cemetery, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family would like to request masks to be worn and social distancing observed for the services. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions in memory of Laverne can be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital in Nashville, TN in her name at stjude.org.
