LaVaughn Dean Loboschefski (Friedley), 98, peacefully passed away on Dec. 28, 2018 at the Lakes of Monclova in Maumee, Ohio, after a very full, rich life. She was born on September 9, 1920 in Clyde, Ohio to Frank and Bessie Friedley. LaVaughn was a nationally recognized cherry pie baker at age 16. She loved to perform and sing whenever the opportunity presented itself throughout her entire life. She married the love of her life, Edward Loboschefski, in 1942 and established their home in Weston, Ohio where they owned and operated the Weston Supermarket for over 30 years. Their retirement years were enjoyed travelling, spending winters in Florida, and loving their grandchildren. LaVaughn was a devoted wife, friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Entertaining others brought her the most joy in life. One who was lucky enough to spend time in her presence would find it impossible to not be enchanted by her and experience laughter. LaVaughn is survived by her two sons Gareth (Barbara) Loboschefski and Terry (Paula) Loboschefski. Grandchildren Brandon (Michele) Loboschefski, Amber (Scott) Schmid, Erik (Rosemary Hartman) Loboschefski, Paul (Rebecca) Loboschefski, Jodi Romaker, and Aaron Lindberg. She is also survived by her nine Great-Grandchildren and dear family friend, Linda Johnson. She was preceded in her death by her husband Edward and her three brothers; Thorald, Clifford, and Robert. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2 at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St., Maumee, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. A memorial and celebration of life service will directly follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
