Laura E. Sikut, 70, of Lakeside Marblehead, formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Laura was born in Cleveland, Ohio February 13, 1955, to William and June (Turner) Todd. She married the love of her life, Stan Sikut, on September 28, 1974, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, and he survives.
Laura and Stan owned and operated the Alador Pet Resort, a boarding and grooming kennel for both dogs and cats, in Chagrin Falls, for 41 years, retiring in June of 2021. In July of 2021 they moved to the Lakeside-Marblehead community to enjoy the beauty and relaxation the shores of Lake Erie offered. They traveled as often as possible, making sure to visit a lighthouse wherever they went.
Animals were life for Laura. She and Stan raised and showed alpacas for many years and bred labradoodles, which always found a loving home. Their own pets included many breeds of dogs and even a few cats, her K-9 companion “Ruby” was with her for the past 13 years.
Laura is survived by her husband and best friend, Stan, mother-in-law, Millie T. Sikut, brothers, William and Bruce Todd, sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Tidwell, niece, Millissa Tidwell, and nephew, Wayne Tidwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Richard and Tom Todd, and Carol Chambers.
Visitation for Laura will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2 – 4 PM, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, Ohio. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home, following visitation, at 4 PM.
