Laura Brooks, 78, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Laura was born on February 12, 1948, in Castro dei Volsci, Frosinone, Italy, to Eugenio Rossi and Assunta De Angelis. At the age of five, she moved to the United States, settling in Curtice, Ohio.

Caring for others was an important part of Laura's life, both at home and through her work as a caregiver at Luther Home of Mercy, where she was recognized for 15 years of dedicated service.

Laura showed her love through cooking and caring for her family. Her famous lasagna, green bean casserole, and big Sunday dinners brought everyone together around the table, creating memories her family will always treasure.

Her grandsons held a special place in her heart. She was their biggest fan, loved watching them play sports, and eagerly followed their videos and updates. Frequent FaceTime calls kept her close across the miles. She treasured her visits to Florida, where she enjoyed escaping the cold, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.

Laura leaves behind her son, Burton Brooks, and his wife, Natasha; her beloved grandsons, Carter McCrary, Saxon Brooks and Vaughn Brooks; her life partner, Randy Bauman; and her sisters, Lucy Ausel and her husband, Hardy, and Gina Metcalf and her husband, Jim.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Brooks, and her son, Scott Brooks.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Clay Township Cemetery in Genoa, Ohio. A memorial gathering and luncheon for family and friends will follow, with location details to be announced.

Laura will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
