Lathon Ronell “Ron” Dameworth, age 91, of Waterville, passed away on December 17, 2023, at Storypoint Waterville Assisted Living Facility, where he resided. Ron was born November 8, 1932, in Waverly, TN, to the late Duel and Henrietta (Hornberger) Dameworth. On November 17, 1951, he married the love of his life, June Casey, and the two enjoyed 71 years of unconditional love and memories together.
Ron served from January 1953 until January 1955 in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Bingham Stamping as a Millwright from 1950 until 1986. He went on to the same position with Johnson Controls and retired in 1995. Ron was a diligent, hardworking man who never missed a day of work. He worked hard so he could spend his time doing what he loved the most; being with his family and most especially, his grandchildren.
In his free time, Ron enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, and he played softball until he was 55. He was an avid fan of both the Detroit Red Wings and Tigers. His favorite meals were sure to consist of either steak or catfish. Ron found his greatest enjoyment in the simple pleasures of flower gardening and bird watching. In his spare time, he loved being outside, and could be found out hunting or doing yardwork. He was a very special man to his entire family and was deeply loved. His memory will be cherished, and his presence missed by many.
Ron is survived by his loving daughters, Elaine (Dale) Valley, Brenda (Tim Cousino) Stamper, Karen (Steve) Findlay; grandchildren, Brianne (Joe Polito) Valley, Megan (Tyler) Kershner, Christopher (Aubree Timmons) Donovan, Brian Stamper, and Stephanie Findlay; great-grandchildren, Makenna, Lathon, Cohen, Sloane, and Lillian.
