Larry D. Schroeder

Larry D. Schroeder, 56, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Ohio, after a short illness. Larry was born in Fremont, Ohio, on January 2, 1960, to Lloyd and Lillian (Holcomb) Schroeder. He married Cheri Hoeft in Genoa on May 28, 1994, and she survives. Larry was a 1978 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and Vanguard Vocational School, where he trained to become an electrician and plumber. He started his career with Johnnie’s Electric in Elmore, Ohio, and then worked for 32 years at Yackee Electric Service in Martin, Ohio. His last two years were spent with the Service Spring Company of Maumee, Ohio. Larry enjoyed working and was well known in the area for his quality and dependability. He played dartball on the St. John’s United Church of Christ, Genoa, team, where he and his family were members. Larry was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and Detroit Tigers fan, enjoying every game he attended and watched. His family was very important to him and he looked forward to spending time with them every chance he could. Larry is survived by his wife, Cheri, daughter, Allison, son, Lance, his mother, Lillian, and his in-laws, Don and Lois Hoeft, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. His father, Lloyd, preceded him in death. A funeral service will be conducted for Larry at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, Ohio 43430. Visitation will be held at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016. Interment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
