Larry K. Rogers

Larry K. Rogers, 71, of Toledo, died May 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 1, 1944 in Bessemer, AL to the late Morris Kenneth and Mary Elizabeth (Gable) Rogers.  Larry graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Army.  He retired from General Motors in 2004 after 30 years of service.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was an attendee at Christ the King Church. Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Joanne M. (Ventresca) Rogers; children, Kenneth L. Rogers, Scott Dean Rogers (wife-Melissa) and Lori Ann Rogers (fiance-Tim Alverson); beloved grandchildren, Sydney and Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.  His brother, Morris, also preceded Larry in death. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where a scripture service will take place at 7:00 p.m.  Services will begin on Saturday in the funeral home with prayers at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, for the funeral at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
