Larry A. Rendle

December 20, 1950 — December 1, 2022

Larry Allan Rendle, 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born December 20, 1950, in Toledo Hospital to Clarence and Lois (Jennings) Rendle. Larry grew up in Lambertville, Michigan, alongside his sister and two brothers. He attended Bedford High School, where he was a member of the football team, graduating in 1969. Shortly after graduation, Larry was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Germany, serving almost two years. He was very proud of his service to his country. Larry retired from Jeep in 2006, having spent much of his 30 years there as a forklift driver.

Larry was a huge fan of Michigan sports teams, but he loved the University of Michigan Wolverines above all. If his TV was on, you can bet he was watching sports. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and playing his guitar.

Larry was a member of the UAW Local 12. He supported Open Door Ministry, Inc., and A.D.A.M.S. House Inc. in Toledo. He was extremely generous with his time and resources, helping others where he could.

Larry was a funny and ornery guy, easy to talk to, and made friends with everyone. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry was a loyal brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend. He will always be remembered by his family for consistently giving the best birthday cards.

Larry is survived by his sister, Rita Hatker and brother Tom (Erika) Rendle; nieces and nephews, Debra Hatker, Laura (Tim) Kruger, Scott Hatker, Nicole Rendle, Kristina (David) Dugan, Marc (Natoya) Rendle; seven great nieces and nephews; aunt, Pat (Dick) Brighton; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Rendle; brother-in-law, James Hatker; and beloved pets Harley and Star.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH.
