Larry R. Parker, age 74, of Whitehouse, died September 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 13, 1947, in Toledo and graduated from Rogers High School in 1965. Larry joined the United States Navy and served for two years as a part of the Navy Seabees. He was a scuba diver and did underwater construction, setting explosives to build the pier for Palmer Station, the first Naval Base in Antarctica. Upon his discharge he worked for his father’s company, Ray Parker Builders and his career as a residential finish carpenter lasted more than 55-years when he retired December 2021.
As a nature lover, Larry enjoyed working in his flower garden, raising Monarch butterflies and fishing in Northern Michigan with his buddies. He built his own home that included a wooded retreat for his enjoyment every day. Larry was also a classic car and motorcycle enthusiast. Gentle, kind, and quiet by nature, his humility and authenticity simply made others feel better having spent time with him.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Donna Parker; son, Steven Parker; daughter, Nichole Baker; soulmate and best friend, Helyn Bolanis. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; sister, Janet Parker; and aunt, Nellie Feyesh.
