HUNTER Larry Neil Larry Neil Hunter, age 70, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Larry was born July 22, 1939 in Coal Fork, WV. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and established a career in the military retiring as Master Sergeant in 1977 after 20 years of service. After retiring, he began a new career in management in both banking and automotive finance. Larrys hobbies included golfing, reading, and gardening. He was known for the wonderful tomatoes that he grew and for his BBQ ribs. He was also an avid Ohio State fan and loved watching games in The Shoe. Larry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marsha Surdel Hunter; son, Brian Hunter, of Chicago, IL ; daughter, Katie Hunter of Las Cruces, NM; sister, Patty William Shipes of Williston, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Hunter; and sisters, Betty Kernaghan and Mary Ann Hunter. Visitation will be Monday from 2-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Ave.. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday with prayers at 9:30am at the funeral home followed by Mass of the Resurrection at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 5373 Main St., Sylvania, OH at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551 or the American Cancer Society- Northwest Ohio Regional Office, 740 Commerce Dr. Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
