Larry A. Miller

Larry A. Miller of Lambertville, MI, age 75, passed away Jan. 22, 2021 from complications of COVID-19. He graduated from Dundee High School in 1963 and from Michigan State University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting. In 1969, he was commissioned through officer training school in the Air Force and was a navigator in C-130 Hercules cargo planes during the Viet Nam War and achieved the rank of Captain before he was honorably discharged in 1972. Once he left the military, he began his career as a CPA. He became a CPA in 1976 eventually working for Price Waterhouse and then DANA Corporation from where he retired. He also operated a successful tax service from his home for many years just ending that in 2020. If you knew him as a friend (and there were many), you knew him as a loyal one that would give freely and generously. You knew he enjoyed going to Vegas, traveling around the states and the world, a good steak and his old stand-by favorite drink- CC Manhattan on the rocks to toast you with. If he was your father your love and respect grew exponentially. You knew he was ready with advice when asked and gave willingly of himself when needed. If you knew him as grandpa/great-grandpa, he had a lap for sitting on, strong arms to hug with and a quick laugh. Yours may be the greatest loss because of the years unable to spend with him. Larry and Pat loved for 27 years. In that time, there were many travels to places they felt blessed to see, ordinary days, happy family times and so many laughs along the way. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Pat, his father Al, and brother Gary. He was preceded in death by his mother. Also in this blended family were his children Darlene (Louis) Nole, Teresa Durkee (Nathan), Amy (Eric) Holland, Michelle Miller, Becky (Tom) Dalton, Danielle (CJ) Cobb and son Eric Miller. There are 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Larry’s family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 4-7PM at the Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, OH 43623), where a funeral service will be held at 7PM. Internment will be private. Due to recent health orders, those in attendance will be required to wear masks and strict social distancing is expected.
