Lana Elaine Campbell

March 10, 1950 — April 21, 2026

Lana Elaine Campbell, age 76, of Cedar Springs, passed away at Hathaway Hills Assisted Living, with her high school sweetheart by her side, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. She was born in Toledo, OH on March 10, 1950, the daughter of Cris and Freda (Mason) Hastin. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Campbell; daughters, Michelle (Matthew) Golladay and Melanie (Chadwick) Pinkelman; grandchildren, Christopher Anderson, Mason Golladay, Jacob (Avery Vlasity) Williams, Jackson Pinkelman, and Kendall Pinkelman; brothers, Cris (Leanna) Hastin, and Joe (Savona) Hastin; brother-in-law, Mick Campbell; sister-in-law, Holly (Jeffrey) Rahman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cris and Freda; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Vera Campbell; her husband's infant sister, Pamela Campbell; and sister-in-law, Patricia Campbell. Lana and Ronald did everything together and always supported one another. In 1994, she and Ron owned and operated Nye Uniform in Grand Rapids. Their small team of 15 tailored, embroidered, and sold thousands of uniforms to local hospitals and law enforcement. In 2001, they planted their roots in Cedar Springs where they built a beautiful home on 40 acres. Commuting from Cedar Springs to Grand Rapids every day, they continued to work until 2008 when they sold Nye Uniform and retired. In their retirement they purchased a motor home to travel across the United States, they were gone for months at a time. In 2015, they traveled from Seattle, Washington to Napa, California, flying to Hawaii, then on to the Florida Keys. They made four separate trips to Yellowstone National Park because they loved it there so much. During their travels, Lana never put her sewing machine away. She made quilts for her grandchildren and attended many quilters retreats across the country. After their travels were over, they would go back to their home on 40 acres to host wood-turning retreats of their own. For years they hosted these retreats that were also inclusive of other arts such as painting, quilting, and woodturning. Outside of their own community activities, Lana had joined a quilting group in Greenville that met at Winter Inn. At the height of COVID in 2020, Lana realized a need. She used her sewing skills to make masks that her family and friends wore to keep them healthy during the pandemic as well as over 2500 additional masks that were distributed throughout the community. Lana lived her life to the fullest and always made sure to include those she loved. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew her.
